Apply for a certificate
Certification for Credibility and Recognition
Certification helps consumers identify genuine artisan food products and gives producers a way to demonstrate the quality and origin of their work. A certified product communicates craftsmanship, domestic production, and uncompromising quality.
The Finnish Artisan Food Association offers its members the opportunity to apply for official Artisan Food Certification. Certified products may display the certification mark and label, signalling to consumers that the product meets the artisan food criteria.
-
Certification is available to members of Mathantverk i Finland rf – Suomen Artesaaniruoka ry who have paid their membership fee.
Once you have become a member, you can fill out the Artisan Food certification application here.
-
A certified artisan food product:
is made from Finnish, preferably local, raw materials
contains no additives or preservatives
is crafted using manual, artisan methods — not automated production lines
lists all processing aids, even if not required by law
-
Once your application is approved, the certification coordinator will send an invoice for the certification fee. After payment, the producer receives:
a certificate of approval
the right to use the official certification mark on their products
a sign for the business premises indicating certification
The company’s information will be published on the association’s website, and certified sellers may display the sign “We sell certified artisan food.”
-
